Baa-d idea: The moment a three-year-old takes his chances on the ram rodeo

Fancy a ride on a horse or a bull? How about a calf - or even a sheep.

A trip to the Paulina Amateur Rodeo, on Oregon, allows for every option - but as this three-year-old found, riding a sheep is just not an easy matter.

With his cowboy hat firmly in place, Tommy Jack Rose held on for dear life as the sheep bucked and baa'd around the enclosure.

The amateur rodeo, now in its 60th year, allows any man, woman or child - be they experienced or beginner - to pay their fee and prepare to be tossed around.

You would expect this to be an unpopular past-time, but with 6,000 members in the The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association - and thousands more in associated groups - there's a lot of people enjoying the past-time.

And with children as young as Tommy Rose learning the ropes, starting with sheep and calves before upgrading to the horses and bulls, it's likely to live on yet.
