    • Say what you want, but the owner showed ambition!!!!! Rare in russia!!!! And the apartment is OK, needs some painting maybe. Standard ‘Russian’ dwelling

      • Well bud this apartment needs more than paint! The 70 year old apartment I lived in for 2 weeks during my first trip to Russia was half as nice as this one and it was remodeled who knows how many times.

Even Russians have a certain standard for living don’t they.

  1. This is a beautiful example of minimalism. You can see the extreme interpretation of geometrical art displayed here. For instance, the lone chair at the window is providing a beautiful view of the city. There is much space for chickens and other livestock to live here with the owner. To me 900/mo. is a small price to pay for this cutting-edge art house.

  2. Looks like a typical Soviet apartment that hasn’t seen any capital repairs since it was built.

900 rubles a month? Sure, it beats freezing to death in winter.

$900 (US) per month? I don’t think so, not unless the place has a primo location, such as close to Red Square or something. Even then the place in that condition wouldn’t be appealing to most foreign visitors.

Now if the owner were to spend a few thousand cleaning it up, painting and putting in some new appliances, then it would be a bargain.

    But as is, hell no.

  5. Its not been touched since it was built 50 years ago. It’s in the centre of the city and when renovated, would be worth a lot of money.

  6. It seems for $50 of paint he could cover entire apartment in one day. It would pay for it’s self many times over in the speed of finding renter for apartment.

  7. Let’s just say, it needs a lot of work… I don’t know if that’s mold on the walls or if they are just that dirty, but if it’s mold it’s definitely unsafe to live in. It could be a nice apartment if it was cleaned up, the cables were attached to the walls, and a bit of plaster and paint here, there and everywhere. Clean the toilet and bathtub with some toilet cleaner. Light fixtures and flooring wouldn’t hurt either.

  8. Nope; they don’t say “furnished and ready to live in”; instead the ad said “it’s destroyed” rightfully.

And it’s inexpensive really for such a place and flat size.

  10. The apartment in fine. It is good for prostitutes and drug sales, set up drug factory, etc.. It has a toilet for vomit, and bed for the prostitute. What else is needed?

  11. I wouldn’t even put my trash in there..Good Grief..
I can’t even imagine how that place smells on top
of how bad it looks. It wouldn’t even be rented in
most places in the U.S. . In most cities buildings
and apartments have to be inspected to make sure they meet
all of the electrical, plumbing and safety codes. That place
would fail before any U.S. housing code inspector made it past the front door..If the rest of the building is that bad
it would probably be condemned outright and tagged unfit
    for occupancy.

  12. I believe some old person died here. Is the body still in the apartment? I wouldn’t move in until they remove it. That was my only real concern. And yes, I would say that it’s furnished. Great for young artist…no worrying about getting paint on floor and walls. Probably this will become a museum some day and people will pay to see it.

  14. That’s what a lot of places in Cuba look like, buildings that have never been repaired since they were built more than 50 years ago.

I can’t even believe someone would dare to charge $900 for such a place. Unless that money is used for serious repairs.
